Mustang RTR-X is alive!

Andy Blackmore Design - Ford Mustang RTR-XThe Mustang RTR-X which I designed with Formula Drift Champion, Vaughn Gittin jr had its first shakedown at Willow Springs recently. The car performed well and looked stunning out in the sun.

I was in California for less than a day, but it was a very special moment to see the RTR-X driven in anger.

You can read Vaughn’s take on the day, with Larry Chen and Linhbergh’s excellent photography on Speedhunters.

Gardella Racing Livery #3 – Red Bull/Mobil 1 Chevrolet Camaro

Originally the first of three liveries designed for Gardella Racing, their new Chevy Camaro made its debut at Road Atlanta round of Formula Drift this past weekend, finishing 2nd in initial qualifying.

The basic livery was designed on the Camaro earlier this year, but had to be squeezed down to fit the much smaller Pontiac Solstice in April. Strict Corporate guidelines from Red Bull and Mobil 1 made this a challenging but enjoyable livery for Andy to design. The car will also feature in some GM advertisements for the Camaro later this year.

Gardella Racing Livery #2 – Eric O’Sullivan Pontiac Solstice

Irish Drifter, Eric O’Sullivan will be making his 2011 debut in the Atlanta round of the Formula Drift Championship in a Gardella Racing Pontiac Solstice.

Gardella have a long history of Blue race cars, so this was a great chance to show off a more creative livery, not tied to any sponsors. The design uses their iconic blue and their new Corporate GR logo. As you can see on WreckedMagazine, the livery has gone down a storm!!!

Gardella Racing Livery #1 – Red Bull/Mobil 1 Pontiac Solstice

Ryan Trueck and Gardella Racing previewed their 2011 Red Bull/Mobil 1 livery at a recent Red Bull event in LA. The design was originally created for the much larger Chevrolet Camaro which is currently in build and needed to be shrinked down to fit the Solstice, while still conforming to Mobil and Red Bull North American Corporate Guidelines.

Ryan will also drive the car at the 1st round of the Formula Drift Championship in Long Beach before the Camaro makes its debut.

Truck Graphics for Team Aon

Here is a great example of unique artwork I create for teams. The illustration of the two Ford Focus BTCC cars is produced in vector art and is scalable without any loss of resolution. This will be printed around 3.5 metres tall to fit on the race transporters. Smaller versions will appear on merchandise and pit panels
