Clients, CJ Wilson Racing, Tyler McQuarrie and Safecraft join forces

It is a cool experience when my clients join forces.

GT and Formula Drift racer, Tyler McQuarrie has been a client for many years as has CJ Wilson Racing, the team he has driven for during the past three seasons. Last year, Tyler teamed up with CLP Motorsport, owners of Safecraft Safety Equipment and Nexgen diesel fuel.

I have designed liveries for all three.

I talk about why went for darker hues, the use of the CJ Wilson signature (aka ‘Star’) and how this has become a common feature on his racecars so no matter what the partner, it is always clear its a CJ Wilson Racing car and will make the entries look more like a collective regardless of sponsor or base color.

ModSpace returns for another title shot with CJ Wilson Racing

CJ Wilson Racing will continue in the 2015 Continental Tires SportsCar Challenge in 2015 with a unchanged livery for the #5 entry of Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer.

Entering the last season of competition with this generation of MX-5, the roadster retains the livery design based off team owner and NBA Baseball star, CJ Wilson’s signature. Using AERO materials, the chrome Blue paint film works with a brushed Aluminum vinyl to tie in with partner Modspace.

The design allows for multiple variations as seen on CJ Wilson’s fleet of MX-5 Cup cars in 2014 and the CTSC Total and Zoom Zoom liveries used by their #3 entry in 2014.

Press Release:
These two race cars will catch the eye even when they are standing still thanks to brand new race liveries created for the team by renowned automotive artist, Andy Blackmore.

Team owner, CJ Wilson can barely contain his enthusiasm. “The new race season is here and we have been looking forward to it greatly. As a team we trended upward and won some races last season – and keeping all four of our drivers together makes our team even stronger than 2013. After two years of developing we really feel like this will be our best year yet from a partnership standpoint and from the pit crew and driver perspective everyone is amped and ready to fight for a championship.”

The eye catching new team liveries are also helping to raise Wilson’s excitement levels. “Our MX-5s look fantastic! We have kept the same graphical shape but we have added new types of material to both wraps. The #3 and the #5 cars will be showing up in a lot of Daytona pit lane pictures for sure!”
